Description
Glenhowen is a house that appears to date from the late 18th century but is reported to have been built in 1659. It features incised rendered walls and a pantiled roof with a brick chimney stack. The building is two storeys high and consists of one bay. To the right, there is a passage entrance that leads to a door located behind it. On the left side, there is a 19th-century four-pane sash window, with a Yorkshire sash window above it. The left end has a chimney. Inside the passage, there is a large chamfered beam on the right, where Glenhowen connects with Merrymen. Beyond the passage, there is a narrow bay that jetties out on the first floor and has a small four-light casement window. Beneath the jetty, set into the wall of Millbrook and adjacent to its door, is a four-panel door in a plain wood frame that matches the door of Millbrook.
