Description
The stable block, located 30 meters southwest of Foxlease, dates from the 18th century and was altered in the 19th century. It is constructed of brick and features a slate roof. The building is two stories high and consists of three bays, with lean-tos at each end. The front has a slightly projecting gabled central bay that includes a full-height arched opening, with the upper part filled by 20th-century windows. The gable is dentilled and features a clock face. There is a raised band running from each side of the arch at the first floor level. The bays on either side have arched recesses on the ground floor, with a 2-light casement in the right-hand recess and a 3-light window with a boarded upper section on the left. On the first floor, the right side has a 2-light casement, while the left side has two smaller windows similar to the right. The roof is hipped, and each end has a tall lean-to that almost appears as an outshot, featuring an arched opening on the left that is open, and double doors with a two-part fanlight on the right. The stable block is included for its group value.
