Description
Burnthouse Farmhouse and the attached barn are a farmhouse and barn combination dating from the 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of brick and features an old plain tile roof with a medieval ridge tile. The farmhouse is two stories high and has two bays, with a three-bay barn added to one end, along with 19th-century outbuildings at the end of the barn.
The front of the house includes a central gabled porch with an archway. On either side of the porch, there are two-light casement windows with cambered heads. Above these are 16-pane sash windows set in gabled dormers that have bargeboards. The right-hand barn has end stacks and features large double doors in the first bay, a two-light segmental casement in the next bay, and a buttress at the end. The end bay of the barn has been largely rebuilt, and the roof is half-hipped at that end.
