Description
Searchfield Lodge is a lodge for Hale Park, built in the early 19th century with later additions. It is constructed of yellow brick and features a slate roof. The building has a cruciform plan, consisting of a wider three-bay range that runs parallel to the drive, with half-octagonal ends. At the center of this range is a thinner section that includes a porch at the front and two bays at the rear, with later infill on the side.
The front of the lodge features a central porch supported by corner pilasters and a basket archway. It has a toothed cornice and wide flat eaves beneath a pedimented gable. The end bays are half-octagonal, also with pilasters at the corners, and each face has small 12-pane sash windows set under rubbed arches. The end bays also have a toothed cornice and wide eaves leading to a hipped roof.
