Description

Dove Cottage at Town End is a Grade I listed building and was the home of the poet William Wordsworth, making it a significant tourist attraction. The cottage consists of two small blocks arranged at right angles to each other, with a porch located in the angle. The northeastern part of the building likely dates from the late 17th century, while the northwestern block is from the 18th century. It is two storeys high, and the front facing the road features two windows on each floor, which have small leaded diamond panes. Inside, there is a 17th-century staircase and 18th-century panelling. The cottage is open to the public.
