Description
The dovecote located approximately 20 meters to the south-east of Bampton Hall is probably from the 16th century, with later additions and a roof. It is constructed of stone rubble with large quoins, and the upper parts of the walls are later additions, topped with a slate roof. The north-west face features an entrance and an upper light, while the north-east face has a window opening and a gable-end stack. Inside, there are collar trusses and tie beams positioned at a lower level. The walls are lined with slate shelves supported by stone. There is a fireplace with a half loft above it, and a lath and plaster partition that may form what is possibly a smoking chamber.
