Description
The building is a former farmhouse and adjoining barn, located northeast of Roundhouse and dated 1702, as indicated by the inscription over the fire window. It is constructed from a mix of cobbles and Skiddaw slate rubble, featuring a slate string course and a graduated greenslate roof without chimney stacks. The structure is two storeys high and consists of three bays, with a lower barn on the left side. There is a plank door set in a chamfered stone surround, along with two- and three-light stone-mullioned windows, and an enlarged window to the right of the entrance. The barn includes a central plank door and an upper wooden-mullioned opening. Inside the house, the upper floor has been removed, and there is an outshut at the rear that contains an internal semicircular stone stair.
