Description
Ridding Fold is a house dating from the late 17th century or 18th century, constructed of stone rubble with slobbered mortar, and a painted right return. It features a slate roof and stands two storeys tall with five bays. The ground floor has three windows, each with flat arches made of rubble voussoirs, and all windows are casements. A later lean-to porch is located at the central bay. The house has gable-end stacks, with the right stack being corbelled. The returns have attic lights, and the right return includes a later lean-to outhouse. At the rear, there is a gabled wing. The windows in the wing also have casements, but there is a distinctive 4-light single-chamfered-mullioned window with a dripstone on the right return, with the entrance located on the left return. Inside, the house features ovolo beams and a plank and muntin partition with moulded edges, as well as a spice cupboard with a door.
