Description
This is a terrace of six cottages, built in the 18th century and located on Main Street in Elterwater. The cottages are similar in style to numbers 1 to 7 Mill Street and form a long row with a corner shop. They are constructed of stone rubble with a slate roof, and feature crude quoins. The upper floor has seven windows, all with stone sills and lintels, and most are six-panel sash windows. The entrance to number 5 is accessed by a flight of slate steps, positioned over a lower window. The entrance to number 6 is sheltered by a lean-to roof that continues the upper step of number 5. The cottages contribute to a group value with other buildings in Elterwater.
