Description

The Maple Tree Cafe, formerly used as premises occupied by Bowness, is an early 19th-century building that adjoins Rose Cottage and stands at the corner of two main streets in Elterwater. It is a three-storey structure with a canted corner. The building features sash windows, with those in the gables, and each facade has one window per floor. The windows have crude labels. A shop door is situated on the corner angle. The composition is symmetrical, and the building incorporates Gothic detailing. For group value context, see the general group description under Elterwater.
