Description

The Speight Monument is a headstone located approximately 11.5 metres south of St Michael's Church. It dates from 1789 and is constructed of ashlar stone. The monument features a swan-necked open pediment, and a round-headed copper plate is affixed to it, bearing an inscription that commemorates Richard Speight and his son John, both of whom died in 1789.
