Description
The Horse and Farrier Inn and the adjoining house is a public house and residence dated 1688, as indicated by the inscription above the entrance. The building has undergone 19th-century alterations. It features incised stucco and roughcast walls, with a graduated greenslate roof and brick and stone chimney stacks. The structure is two storeys high and consists of five bays, with a two-bay former stable on the right and a two-bay house on the left, all under a common roof. The entrance includes a top-glazed panelled door set in a chamfered surround, with an inscribed lintel beneath a hoodmould. The windows are sash style, framed in 19th-century painted stone surrounds. The former stable has 20th-century doors and windows in plain reveals, while the house to the left features a plank door and sash windows also in painted stone surrounds.
