Description

Thorney Howe Youth Hostel is a building dating from the 18th century, now serving as a youth hostel. It has an L-shaped plan, with an eastern wing constructed of stone rubble featuring rough slate quoins and a slate roof, along with end chimneys. This part of the building is two storeys high and includes a round-arched doorway, two sash windows on the ground floor, and three sash windows above. The lower and older section, which faces south, is cement-rendered and has three oval chimneys. This part is two storeys tall and has smaller windows.
