Description
Brook Villa and the adjoining stable are former farmhouse and stable structures dating from the mid-18th century, with a later stable addition. The buildings feature mixed calciferous sandstone rubble walls and are topped with a graduated green slate roof that has banded stone chimney stacks. They are two storeys high and consist of two bays, with the stable having a lower right two-bay section.
The central entrance has a 20th-century door, and there are 20th-century casement windows set within the original stone surrounds. The stable includes an off-centre plank door and a left-side casement window, both under wooden lintels, as well as right slit vents on two levels.
An internal 17th-century datestone, uncovered by the owner, is believed to have originated from an earlier building on this site. A rear right-angle extension to a collapsed barn is not of interest.
