Description
The Glasson Monument is a headstone located approximately 10 meters to the north-east of St Michael's Church. It dates from the 20th century and is made of ashlar stone. The monument features a convex shape with angle pilasters that support two kneeling cherubs in prayer. It has a segmental cornice. The inscriptions are in E Gill's script; the east side commemorates Lancelot Thompson Glasson and his wife Ellen, while the west side includes a quotation from Psalm 104 from the Authorised Version of the Bible. The dates of death recorded on the monument are 1935 and 1946.
