Description

The Cottage is a cottage and former stable dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of painted slate rubble and features a graduated greenslate roof with a rebuilt roughcast chimney stack. The building has two storeys and two bays, with a lower stable section to the left. There is a 20th-century door set within a 20th-century wooden porch. The windows include sash and casement styles with glazing bars, with the ground-floor right window being a smaller fire window, all set in plain reveals. The Cottage has group value with Stonethwaite Farmhouse.
