Description

Lorton Bridge is a farmhouse that has been converted into a private dwelling. It is dated and inscribed above the entrance with "P. & J.T. 1722." The building features painted roughcast walls, V-jointed quoins, and an eaves cornice. The roof is made of graduated greenslate and includes brick and roughcast chimney stacks. The house is two storeys high and consists of three bays. There is a panelled door with an overlight set in an open stone porch that has a segmental hood. The sash windows, which have glazing bars, are framed by painted stone surrounds and show remnants of flat stone mullions. The adjoining barns and 20th-century extensions are not considered of interest.
