Description

This is a row of late 18th-century cottages located on the west side of St John’s Street in Keswick. The cottages are constructed with roughcast or scored stucco over a stone rubble core. They are two storeys high, and most have one sash window with 12 panes on the lower floor and two above. Number 36 has a modern shop front. Number 38 features a doorcase with a pediment. Number 40 incorporates a modern “Georgian” bow window. Number 42 is distinguished by two small square shop windows and three upper windows, each with 12 panes.
