Description
The Webster monument, located approximately 5 meters south of St Paul's Church, was erected in 1827. It is made of limestone and features iron railings. The base is set into sloping ground and has rock-faced panels with angle pilaster strips that have round-headed terminals. Above, there is a projecting band with weathering that supports a raised tomb slab. The railings are adorned with decorative finials. The tomb slab bears an inscription for Francis Webster, an architect who lived from 1787 to 1827. Two plaques at the base commemorate George Webster, also an architect, who lived from 1797 to 1864, and his wife Eleanor, who died in 1867. George Webster was a significant local architect known for designing St Paul's Church.
