Description
Dawes House and the adjoining stables were built in the mid to late 18th century. The house features painted roughcast walls, a string course, an eaves cornice, and raised quoins. It has a graduated hipped greenslate roof with limestone banded chimney stacks. The structure is two storeys high with five bays, while the stables, which are lower, have two bays. A central 20th-century wooden porch with a pediment leads to a panelled door. The house has sash windows with glazing bars set in painted stone surrounds. The stables include a segmental arched doorway, and the left side of the stables has a plank door and a loft door in plain openings.
