Description

Crosslands House with outbuilding is a house dating from the 17th century or early 18th century, with later alterations. It is constructed of stone rubble, some of which is painted, while the front and left side of the house are roughcast, topped with a slate roof. The building is two storeys high and has two bays, with a lower outbuilding to the left that is one storey with an attic and two bays, which is now part of the house.

The windows are sashed with vertical glazing bars; the window in the second bay has a smaller window to the right of the mullion, with a paired sash above it, while the fourth bay features two small windows. The entrance has a six-fielded-panel door and a gabled trellis porch, and there is an entrance to the third bay that has a slate gabled hood. The house has two gable-end stacks.

At the rear, there is an outshut under a catslide roof leading to the outbuilding, along with a stair wing under a catslide roof that includes a re-entrant porch. Inside, the property features chamfered beams and a fielded-panel partition with a dado rail and door. There is a fielded-paned spice cupboard door, and the staircase has square newels and a moulded handrail but no balusters. A turned post is located at the rear of the mullion to the window in the second bay.
