Description
A house, now divided into two dwellings, and a barn, dated 1740 and inscribed “GH” over the entrance. The buildings are constructed of painted roughcast walls with a graduated greenslate roof and roughcast chimney stacks. The main house, Grecian House, is two storeys and five bays wide, with a right-angled extension to the left which is now Beech Farmhouse, and a further right-angled barn at the rear. Grecian House features a 20th-century door within a shouldered architrave and sash windows with glazing bars in painted stone surrounds. A further 20th-century door is located to the right. Beech Farmhouse has a 20th-century door and overlight beneath a round-headed staircase window with intersecting glazing bars. The windows are similar to those of Grecian House. The barn has pent roof extensions, including a cart entrance and a doorway on the left side, and further plank doorways. The interior of Beech Farmhouse contains an 18th-century staircase with turned balusters and carved tread ends, along with panelled shutters to each window.
