Description

The Smithy, associated with Kent and Son, Agricultural Engineers, is a mid-19th century smithy constructed from red sandstone random rubble with brick quoins and dressings. It features a triple ridge tile roof and a louvred metal opening located on the roof to the right of center. A tall brick stack rises from the rear of the building. The plan consists of a single cell, and it is a single storey structure. The left side has wooden double doors that rise to the eaves, while the right facade slightly projects forward and includes a 3-light window that also extends into the eaves. The right return has a segmental headed 3-light window with a louvred vent above it. The interior has not been seen, but the smithy remains fully operational.
