Description
The barn and adjoining round house, located about 100 metres south of Brandish Farmhouse, date from the late 18th century to early 19th century. The structure features red sandstone random rubble and has a slate roof for the barn, while the round house is thatched. The barn is designed as a double threshing barn with porches on the southwest side that flank the horse engine house. It consists of seven bays, with four collar beam trusses and two principal rafters supported by tie beams. The circular horse engine house does not have a main beam for the engine and includes two rectangular unglazed openings and a square-headed entrance on the north front.
