Description
The churchyard cross, located about 6 meters south of the nave of the Church of St Peter, dates back to the 14th century and was restored in the late 20th century. It is made of blue lias and Ham stone. The cross features a square, one-stage calvary with an octagonal socket that has been broached to a square, which holds the inset stump of an octagonal shaft. This shaft continues in Ham stone and is topped with a gabled cross. The restoration was carried out in memory of the rector. The cross is not mentioned in Pooley's "Old Crosses of Somerset," published in 1877.
