Description
Landacre Bridge is a road bridge over the River Barle, likely originating in the late medieval period, with subsequent restorations, including one in 1875. It is constructed from random rubble using local stone and features two courses of rubble voussoirs. The bridge has a saddle back coping made of slate that is bedded on end. It spans five pointed arches, with cutwaters between the arches that rise to the parapet. The downstream side has square piers in the abutments. The bridge is also designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument (Somerset County No 266).
