Description

This is a gateway built around 1840, located approximately 130 metres south of Furlong Mill. It is constructed from granite ashlar and features a wide opening for a drive leading to Furlong Mill. The gateway is flanked by square gate posts that have plain projecting plinths, cornices, and low pyramid caps. The side walls, designed in the same style, extend a short distance to similar terminal piers and bow forward slightly. This gateway is associated with the significant rebuilding of Furlong and the nearby Sandy Park Inn.
