Description

Parford Well is a well house dated 1872, constructed from granite ashlar. It has a square plan and features a low-pitched pyramid roof, facing southeast onto the road. The front of the building includes a doorway with a two-centred arch, which holds a cast iron door adorned with ornate strap hinges and a bolt. Above the arch, there is a recessed Maltese cross, and further up, an inscription in plain upper and lower case lettering states that the well house was "free to villagers of Sandypark for domestic purposes," along with the date 1872 and the initials WRB.
