Description

The Clapper Bridge over the East Dart River is a medieval structure. It features piers made of large granite blocks with granite slab lintels. Originally, the bridge had four spans, but only two of these spans still retain their lintels. This bridge is believed to have been part of the medieval track known as the lich way, which connected the Ancient Tenements in the Forest to Lydford.
