Description
The Clapper Bridge across Walla Brook, located on the road from Cator to Bellever, is a notable structure that likely dates from the 18th century or early 19th century. Constructed from granite rubble, the bridge features three spans supported by heavy granite lintels that rest on piers and abutments made of large granite blocks. The upstream side is characterized by sharply pointed cutwaters, while the parapets are topped with copings of roughly squared stones. This bridge serves as a crossing into Lydford parish.
