Description

The Clapper Bridge over the East Dart River is a structure that likely dates back to the 13th century, although it may have undergone more recent repairs. It features roughly shaped blocks of granite forming the piers, along with three rough granite lintels. This three-span bridge is part of one of the medieval routes that connected Exeter to Tavistock across the moor. It is also designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument, number 406.
