Description

The base of a former village cross, located about 10 metres south of Church House in Widecombe-in-the-Moor, dates back to the medieval period. It is constructed from granite ashlar and features a stepped octagonal design, standing approximately one metre high. The base has a projecting, chamfered plinth, with the top of each of the two steps slightly projecting and chamfered. A yew tree now grows out of the middle of the cross base.
