Description
9 Market Street is a house that is part of a terrace, built in the early to mid-19th century, possibly as a remodelling of an earlier structure. The exterior is cement rendered and blocked out, with a slate roof and a rear lateral stack featuring a stone rubble shaft. It has cast-iron rainwater goods. The building is two storeys high with deep eaves supported by paired, moulded brackets. The front is asymmetrical yet regular, consisting of three bays. To the left, there is a round-headed doorway with a recessed 20th-century front door and a blind fanlight above. The ground floor has two 16-pane 19th-century sash windows, and there are two outer first-floor 16-pane sashes, with a blind recess in the centre of the first floor. The interior has not been inspected but may contain features of interest.
