Description

This is a pair of headstones dated 1778 and 1782, marking the graves of a father and son, both named Stephen Maddaford. They are located approximately 4 metres south of the transept of the Church of St Peter in Peter Tavy. The headstones are made of slate. The headstone for Stephen the Younger features a segmental head with a simple carved winged angel's head, while the headstone for Stephen the Elder has a nowy head.
