Description

Hexworthy or Huccaby Bridge is a road bridge over the West Dart River, dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of granite rubble, featuring dressed granite voussoirs and some granite ashlar on the jambs and cutwaters. The bridge has three spans with segmental arches, where the central arch is significantly wider than the others. Triangular cutwaters, built in diminishing courses, divide the arches. The bridge is topped with a cranked parapet that has roughly dressed coping stones.
