Description
This is a carriage house and stables located approximately 60 metres west of The Mythe, dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It features Flemish bond brickwork and a slate roof. The building is a symmetrical two-storey structure with a wide central pediment and a hipped slate roof. Each wing has a small two-light small-paned casement window above a wide pair of plank doors with a segmental head. The pediment includes a plain oculus above two blank recessed arched panels that contain a small lunette. At the centre of the pediment, there is a small plank door with a segmental head. The eaves are dentilled brick all around, which also extends across the base of the pediment. The end returns are plain, while the back features a central plank loading door on the first floor, supported by five wooden corbels spaced across the back at mid-height. The interior has not been inspected. Additionally, to the left of the small central door, there is a mounting block with sandstone steps set on brick.
