Description
The William Drinkewater monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard of the Church of St. Mary, approximately 5 metres south of the nave. It dates from 1615 and is made of limestone. The south side features an inscription in capital letters that notes a benefaction for the maintenance of a preacher in Gloucester and a yearly donation of 10 shillings to the poor of Hatherley. The tomb is otherwise plain, topped with a thick capping that has cavetto moulding.
