Description
Fir Tree Cottage is a detached cottage dating from the 17th to early 18th century, with some 20th-century alterations. It features square-panelled timber framing with painted brick infill, a concrete tile roof (which was formerly thatched), and a corrugated iron roof. The main structure is rectangular with a timber-framed lean-to on the right gable end. At the front of the main body, there is a 20th-century part-glazed conservatory, and a 20th-century extension at the left gable end, which is not of special interest. The main body has one and a half storeys and consists of three bays. The upper floor is illuminated by a single 2-light raking dormer with glazing bars, while the ground floor has a 20th-century two-light wood casement window. Access to the main body is through the conservatory, with a 19th-century plank door leading to the lean-to at the right gable end. There is a stack on the right gable end. The interior has not been inspected.
