Description
A row of three houses located on Church Street, Tewkesbury, built in 1813. The houses are constructed of Flemish bond brickwork with tile roofs and brick stacks. They have a distinctive crescent shape, meeting the party wall of number 29 at a sharp angle and then returning square to Gander Lane.
The buildings are three storeys high with a basement, and each house originally had two windows, with an additional window centered on the ground floor. The upper floors feature 12-pane sashes, while the ground floor windows have 16 panes, all set within fine brick voussoirs. The windows have stone sills. A grille is set into the basement opening. Each house has a six-panel door within a pilaster surround and panelled reveals, topped by an open pediment containing a radial fanlight. The roofs are hipped with a coped parapet and large brick stacks in the valleys, and a further stack to the right. The rear elevation is stepped, with number 32 featuring 16-pane sashes and a particularly deep 33-pane sash with fanlight to the staircase. Number 31 has a central 16-pane sash, and number 30 has uPVC windows. Interiors were noted to feature shutters, decorative cornice moulds, and panelled doors, although they have not been inspected. The exterior displays Group Value.
