Description
No. 111 High Street is a house with a shop, dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century, with mid-19th century extensions built on earlier foundations. It features Flemish bond brickwork and a slate roof. The building has a narrow frontage and is situated next to Eagles Alley on its left. The original front section has been extended by a narrow gabled wing on the left and a late 20th century wing on the right, which covers a former yard area. The structure is three storeys tall with a basement and has two windows, which are 12-pane sashes set in reveals with V-joint splayed lintels and slate cills. The ground floor includes a square plate-glass display window framed by a late 19th century pilaster surround, with a 20th century door set back to the right. A grille is present at the basement under the display window. The low pitched gabled roof has a coped parapet and two cropped brick stacks, while the rear ranges have 20th century windows. The interior has not been inspected.
