Description

This sundial, dated 1741, is located approximately 6 metres south of The Grange in Woolstone. It features a limestone Doric column topped with a bronze gnomon and dial, along with a moulded base and capping. The sundial is square in shape, and the gnomon is designed in the form of a fish. An inscription around the edge reads: "Mids summere floweres I'tell ye hours / When wintere steals ye flowers awaye / I tell ye passage of there day / Beyond ye tombe fresh floweres bloom."
