Description
The Dovecote at Boddington Manor is a former dovecote dating from the 17th or 18th century, with later alterations. It is constructed from roughly squared stone brought to courses, featuring larger quoins and a tiled roof. The building is two storeys high and rectangular in shape. On the side facing the road, there is a ground floor two-light wooden window located to the right of the centre, with a timber lintel above it. The eaves are coved, and there is a glover on the ridge, with the sides covered in felt and a pyramid roof. The right side of the building is hidden at ground level. The coved eaves extend across the gable, and above this, there is a change in the stonework that outlines a narrower, steeper gable within the existing one, which dates from 1987. The interior has not been inspected, but in 1979, nests were still intact on the upper floor.
