Description

This is a house in a row, dating back to the 16th or 17th century, with a 20th-century facade. The original building is timber-framed and rendered, with a tile roof and a brick stack. It has a side entry and a parallel plan front block, consisting of two bays and two storeys, with three windows. The upper floor has 2-light casement windows. The ground floor has two plain glazed upright openings that flank a glazed door, which leads up two stone steps. A low opening gives access to Mann’s Court on the left. A parapet sits atop the front, and a brick stack is visible on the right. The street-facing front has lost most of its original historic detail, although previous records indicated the presence of sash windows with glazing bars. The wall facing Mann’s Court is timber-framed and has two adjacent 2-panel doors, and three beams across. The interior is not accessible.
