Description
No. 61 High Street is an early 19th-century house located in a row of buildings, with a club. It features painted brick construction, a tile roof, and brick stacks. The front block has a parapet and a twin-hipped roof, along with a back wing. The house has three storeys and a basement, with two windows on the front. The windows are plate-glass sashes set in V-joint splayed lintels that have chamfered keystones and stone cills. The basement has a grilled area and access to the cellar on the right, which is set in a small plinth. On the left side, there is a 20th-century glazed door beneath a plain fanlight, framed by an arch with rusticated voussoirs. To the right of the door is a 19th-century footscraper. There is a brick stack on the right side and another at the ridge of the rear wing. The rear wing is also made of painted brick and has three storeys, but features an unpainted outer gable and a large external stack. The interior has not been inspected.
