Description

This is a small house in a terrace, dating from the late 18th century. It is built with distinctive Flemish bond brickwork, topped with a tile roof and featuring a brick stack. The house has a double-depth plan and is arranged over two storeys and an attic. Originally containing a single window on the front, it now has replacement casement windows on both floors. The first-floor window is set within wide, splayed rusticated voussoirs, while the ground-floor window is wider and sits above a small 20th-century light. A 4-panel part-glazed door is set beneath a transom light with diagonal bars. A wood bressumer runs across the ground floor at lintel level, above new brickwork. The building has a plain cill band to the first floor and a decorative band above it, alternating plain and fluted units. It shares a straight brick joint with the adjacent No.3 Abbey Terrace, and there is a slight difference in the frontages. At the rear, small two-light casements with four panes are visible. The interior remains uninspected.
