Description

The Barnes monument is a pedestal tomb located in the churchyard, approximately 8 meters east of the north-east corner of the Church of St Catherine. It commemorates Barnes, who died in 1788. The monument is made of stone and features a flat pyramid top with a moulded edge and fielded panels on the sides. The base is sunk into the ground and is partly overgrown with ivy. There are later inscriptions added in 1830.
