Description
Rectory Farmhouse is a large house dating from the mid-17th century. It is rendered and features large squared and dressed limestone quoins at the corners. The roof is made of red tiles and has an ashlar stack, along with another stack that has incised render. The building has an 'L'-shaped plan, with a 20th-century extension attached to the rear right that is not of special interest. The gable is off-centre to the right.
On the ground floor, there are two three-light stone-mullioned casements, while the first floor has three two-light stone-mullioned casements and a single light casement towards the apex. All windows have hollow-moulded stone mullions and stopped hoods. The rear of the house features similar windows. A gabled porch is centrally placed in relation to the main gable, and it contains an early studded plank door with strap hinges, set within a 'Tudor'-arched flat-chamfered surround that has a beaded edge. Above the door is a hoodmould with square stops decorated with flowers. The house has stacks at the gable ends and stepped gable-end coping. The interior has not been inspected.
