Description

This late 19th-century house and shop is located on the corner of North Street and High Street in Winchcombe. It is constructed of limestone ashlar with a Welsh slate, hipped roof and a central brick stack. The building has a distinctive curved wall where North Street and High Street meet, with a doorway set diagonally. It is three storeys high and features two windows along North Street, plus one window in the curved corner. The first and second floors have sash windows without bars. A blank panel on the corner first floor displays a painted sign. Plate glass display windows and a glazed door are set under a decorative pediment. The return to High Street also has two windows above a four-pane plate glass display window. The building was part of the same ownership as Nos 3, North Street and 10 High Street at the time of the survey. Its significance lies in its important design contribution to this prominent corner location.
