Description
No. 5 Gloucester Street is a house built in the late 19th century. It features large blocks of squared and coursed yellow limestone, along with some box framing. The roof is made of stone slate, topped with a cut stone ridge and metal gable finials, and there are two stacks with steep weathered crowns and moulded caps. The building has an L-plan layout and includes an upper floor that is slightly jettied at the outer gable, constructed in timber framing. It stands two storeys tall and has a variety of stone hollow mould mullioned casements with diagonal leading, as well as flush wood casements in the framed section. The central entrance is a plank door with straps, set within a four-centred arch that has a stopped drip. The house is well-maintained and features a 'Tudor' study, forming part of a group with the nearby School House and Three Gables.
