Description

This is a barn located approximately 150 meters north-west of Great Cumberwood, dating from the 17th to early 18th century. It features square-panelled timber framing with unpainted brick infill and a brick plinth made from blue lias. The roof is covered with corrugated iron, which replaced the original thatch. The barn has a rectangular plan and includes double plank doors positioned opposite each other. There are cross-shaped ventilation slits, some arranged in pairs, located at the center of the brick infill within the panelling, as well as additional ventilation slits in the gable ends. Inside, the barn comprises five bays supported by original queen post trusses, with diagonal bracing beneath the tie beam.
